We are delighted to share the recording of Episode 04 of Vibe with Venerables, where we get to talk “live” to Buddhist masters together.
Soryu Forall explores prapañca (Pali: papañca; Chinese: 妄想) – the Buddhist concept of mental proliferation and how our tendency to make things up creates conflict and suffering, both within ourselves, and with others. Drawing from ancient texts like the Yavakalāpi Sutta , and the Madhupiṇḍika Sutta, as well as his modern observations, he reveals how clinging to our mental narratives (i.e., papañca) prevents genuine understanding and peace.
Soryu invites participants to let go of views, showing how our constant explaining and believing in our own thoughts disconnects us from true compassion and harmony. Through engaging examples from science and personal experiences, he offers practical insights into recognizing and releasing mental patterns.
He invites us to transform our relationship with thought, and discover a more liberated way of being.
The session includes a short guided meditation, chanting, Dharma talk, and Q&A with participants.
