Introduction to Meditation
🪷 Mingyur Rinpoche has distilled the essence of meditation into this structured course. It is the absolute foundation to meditation.
🪷 This course takes less than 20 minutes per day over 7 days. You can choose your pace to complete the course. It is pith yet comprehensive. There are video teachings, guided meditations, instructions for daily life practice, and reflection prompts. We recommend you continue with the Joy of Living Program after you complete this program.
Joy of Living
🪷 After you complete the JOL program, you would have a solid foundation for your daily meditation practice, practicing mindfulness in daily life, and even a long meditation retreat (e.g., a 10-day retreat).
🪷 The meditation program is secular. It is suitable even if you do not identify as Buddhist.
🪷 If you prefer to practice with support, you can join one of several global communities.

Dharma Drum Mountain Elementary Meditation Course
🪷 The Dharma Drum Mountain suite of meditation programs is highly structured, well planned, very comprehensive, and allows you to progress on the path of meditation practice. If you complete this course, you will have a solid foundation of meditation.
🪷 Course components include: sitting postures, meditation equipment, practice methods, moving meditation and application of meditation in daily life.
🪷 If there is a DDM center or monastery located near you, we highly recommend you anchor your meditation learning there. Nothing beats a direct, in-person and easy access to a guide in meditation (and in life).
“Although the methods of tso-ch’an 坐禪 (sitting meditation) are simple and straightforward, it is best to practice them under the guidance of a teacher. Without a teacher, a meditator will not be able to correct beginner’s mistakes, which if uncorrected, could lead to problems or lack of useful results.”

Buddhist monk & founder of Dharma Drum Mountain
