Coming Up: the Buddha

by | Oct 21, 2023 | Buddhism.net Blog

In Topic#1 of Buddhism for All, we took an introductory look at Dharma and some of the key features of Buddhism. We hope that was helpful to you. Now the real fun begins.

For Topic#2, which starts today, we will look at the life of the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Besides getting to know him, you will also catch a glimpse of some fascinating aspects of Buddhism. For example, you will find that gods play no role whatsoever in the enlightenment of the Buddha, which explains the nontheistic nature of Buddhism. You will also find the central role of joy and investigation in the Buddha’s enlightenment, again foretelling their central role in his eventual teachings.

If you have not caught up with the posts, it’s not too late. We plan to keep all Buddhism for All post on Buddhism.net indefinitely (subject to the laws of impermanence, etc). Just head over anytime.
