Reflections for “Mindfulness of the Body“

by | Jan 18, 2024 | Buddhism.net Blog

The post titled Mindfulness of the Body is now up on Buddhism for All. Angela from the Buddhism.net team reflected on it, and invites you to do so too.

🌕 Angela’s Reflections:

Mindfulness of the body (Pali: kāyānupassanā) includes: mindfulness of the breath, mindfulness of posture, mindfulness of parts of the body (32 body parts), mindfulness of the four elements of earth, water, fire and air, and mindfulness of the body decaying (charnel ground contemplations). Mindfulness of the breath and mindfulness of posture, starting with guided instruction on how to sit for meditation, are perhaps two practices we can start with. Visit the Guided Meditation section in Buddhism.net for curated meditation instructions from qualified teachers.

🌱 Journal Reflection Prompts for You:

  • 📝 Are you aware of your posture, now?

  • 📝 Are you aware of your breath?

  • 📝 To what extent are you relaxed in your body?

  • 📝 What insights, learning, or reflection came up for you from this article?
