We are delighted to share the recording of Episode 12 of Vibe with Venerables, where we get to talk “live” to Buddhist masters together.
Venerable Gyatso discusses the concept of seeing all sentient beings as kind to us. He discusses the kindness of others, focusing on how our survival and happiness depend on countless sentient beings. He explains that our happiness is dependent on others, from food production to social interactions.
He further encourages participants to reflect on the kindness of their mothers and other caregivers, emphasizing the importance of gratitude.
Venerable Gyatso teaches the importance of cultivating love and compassion, through recognizing the kindness of others, including even our enemies. He introduces the concept that our enemies can help us develop patience, which is crucial for our spiritual practice. He shares personal experiences of transforming difficult relationships through daily practice and visualization.
Venerable Gyatso also talks about his work with inmates in prisons, emphasizing the importance of seeing them as human beings and offering kindness and support.
The session includes a guided meditation, opening prayers, a dharma talk, and a Q&A, where participants discuss the challenges and benefits of practicing love and patience in daily life.

Excerpts read from Nagarjuna’s Letter to a Friend:
“Already each of us has drunk more milk than could be contained in the four great oceans. And if we continue to pursue the ways of ordinary beings, we as cyclic beings must help ourselves to even more.”
Excerpts read from Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s Transforming Problems Into Happiness:
“It is not good to be wealthy, it is better to be poor. If you are poor and experience hardships, you can accomplish the Buddhadharma. The beggar’s body is the aim of the Dharma.”
