How Wisdom Ends Suffering at Every Level | Vibe with Venerables Ep 51

by | Oct 10, 2026 | Buddhism.net Blog, Recording

Blame the boss. Quit the job. Find a wealthy spouse. This is how most of us apply the Four Noble Truths. 😅

In Ep 51 of Vibe with Venerables, Venerable Damcho (‪@sravastiabbey‬) continues the higher training in wisdom (prajñā) with the Buddha’s very first teaching. She explains why Venerable Chodron calls them the Four Truths for the Noble Ones, and how the same teaching deepens as our goals grow, from seeking a good rebirth to awakening for the benefit of all beings.

In this episode, learn about:

  • Why there is nothing noble about suffering (dukkha)
  • How to practice the four truths at three levels, based on the Stages of The Path (Lamrim)
  • Why even the best rebirth is like the top of the Eiffel Tower
  • What a pot that once held onions teaches about the mind
  • Whether we have free will when karma shapes so much of who we are
  • A simple way to check if a decision is wise
  • The three types of awakening mind.

Plus: what is “free won’t”?
