The post titled Right Livelihood is now up on Buddhism for All. Angela from the Buddhism.net team reflected on it, and invites you to do so too.
🌕 Angela’s Reflections:
The Buddha’s compassion to teach us right livelihood (relevant even today) is immeasurable. Examine your own livelihood. If you do not currently have right livelihood (or maybe you’re in a somewhat grey area), there is no need to immediately quit your job in righteousness. Understand the teachings more deeply first. Understand your own motivations and personal values. Pause and consider the totality of your circumstances. Make a plan before you transition to right livelihood.
🌱 Journal Reflection Prompts for You:
- 📝 Examine your current livelihood. Is it in line with right livelihood?
- 📝 How will cultivating right livelihood be beneficial to you and others around you?
- 📝 Meng wrote that “It is precisely in being willing to change one’s livelihood that one gains the confidence to enter upon the transcendent aspects of the path“. If you already are a Buddhist practitioner and are keeping right livelihood, to what extent is this statement is true for you?
