The journey of Siddhattha from a privileged prince to the Enlightened Buddha is an emblematic story of unyielding perseverance, search for truth, and eventual enlightenment. This narrative illuminates the essence of Siddhattha’s unwavering dedication to understanding the true nature of suffering and seeking an end to it. Despite mastering various deep states of meditation under esteemed teachers and subjecting himself to extreme ascetic practices, Siddhattha recognized that neither indulgence nor self-mortification was the path to enlightenment. His eventual path was a middle way, pivoting on the profound spiritual joy of meditation, reminiscent of a childhood experience. This joy is emphasized as being accessible to all, an egalitarian foundation upon which the teachings of Buddhism rest.
