Reflections for “Right Speech”

by | Dec 17, 2023 | Buddhism.net Blog

The post titled Right Speech is now up on Buddhism for All. Angela from the Buddhism.net team reflected on it, and invites you to do so too.

🌕 Angela’s Reflections:

Hurtful speech can harm significantly more than physical weapons. Unwholesome speech could potentially divide people, communities, and nations. Right speech is abstinence from false speech, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter.

🌱 Journal Reflection Prompts for You:

  • 📝 Bring awareness to your speech. Notice if they are wholesome (i.e., abstinence from false speech, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter), or unwholesome (the opposites).

  • 📝 How will cultivating right speech be beneficial to you and others around you?

  • 📝 What are some ways you can start to practice or apply right speech?
