The post titled The Noble Eightfold Path is now up on Buddhism for All. Angela from the Buddhism.net team reflected on it, and invites you to do so too.
🌕 Angela’s Reflections:
Now we come into the Fourth Noble Truth, that is the Noble Eightfold Path. The Fourth Noble Truth is a truth about practice and cultivation, that leads to the cessation of suffering. “This is the noble truth of the way of practice leading to the cessation of stress. This noble truth of the way of practice leading to the cessation of stress is to be developed” (Source: SN 56.11 Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta). We can think of it as a new set of virtuous habits and mindset that we can practice in our daily lives.
🌱 Journal Reflection Prompts for You:
- 📝 Do you have a daily routine which helps you connect to awareness and cultivate clarity of mind? If not, how might you design a practice schedule in your current lifestyle?
- 📝 Buddha’s core teaching could be summarized in this phrase: “Not to do any evil, to cultivate good, to purify one’s mind, this is the teaching of the Buddhas”. To what degree does this teaching resonate with you?
