Reflections for “You Already Have Gold in that Ball of Dung”

by | Nov 10, 2023 | Buddhism.net Blog

The post titled You Already Have Gold in that Ball of Dung is now up on Buddhism for All. Angela from the Buddhism.net team reflected on it, and invites you to do so too.

🌕 Angela’s Reflections:

The mind in its natural state is pure, perfect and free from suffering. The mind is luminous, and is already innately fully awakened and free from delusion and ignorance. But is this inherently awake mind your experience on a daily basis?

If not, that’s because your innate basic goodness, or the innate pure perfect wondrous mind is constantly obscured by stress, depression, greed, anger, delusion, jealousy, pride, and all that jazz which you’re very familiar with.

Uncovering your basic innate goodness and awakening your mind to its innate purity and freedom, is your vision quest this life. I would even go as far to say, that is the purpose of your life — to uncover your inner gold and genuinely awakening to and genuinely realizing the fully awakened Buddha mind within.

🌱 Journal Reflection Prompts for You:

  • 📝 What is the state of your mind now? To what extent do you experience your mind as pure, perfect and free from suffering? Regardless of the state of your mind (or mood), there is a knowing that knows. This knowing is pure, perfect, clear and luminous. Connect with this knowing.

  • 📝 Can you accept that your mind in its most innate form, is inherently awake, pure, clear and luminous? Why or why not?
