We are delighted to share the recording of Episode 16 of Vibe with Venerables, where we get to talk “live” to Buddhist masters together.
Venerable Gyatso discusses the importance of compassion, particularly self-compassion, in Buddhist practice. He emphasizes the need to cultivate boundless compassion, love, and equanimity, and to integrate compassion into daily life.
Venerable Gyatso also highlights the negative impact of self-hate and shame in Western culture and shares personal experiences of overcoming negative self-talk through mindfulness and gratitude practices.
Finally, Venerable Gyatso explains the interdependence of self-compassion and compassion for others, and the benefits of maintaining a positive mindset and supporting community well-being.
This episode includes an opening prayer of refuge and cultivating the four immeasurables, and end with a dedication of merit.
