The Korean Buddhist Path (November 2026 and January 2027)
Discovering Seon, Compassion and Interconnectedness
This four-part Dharma talk series introduces Korean Buddhist practice through the teachings and personal journey of Venerable HyeJu.
Drawing on nearly three decades of experience as a Korean Buddhist nun (Bhikkhuni), as well as her work as a meditation teacher and scholar, she will explore how Buddhist practice can help us face suffering, cultivate compassion, and live with greater clarity and meaning.
November 2026: The series begins with an exploration of the history and living tradition of Seon meditation in Korea, followed by personal reflections on suffering, compassion, and the insights she has gained through her own life and practice.
January 2027: It then introduces Ganhwa Seon, Korea’s distinctive tradition of meditation and concludes with the Ocean Seal Diagram created by the Korean Buddhist master Uisang in 668 CE, which presents a profound vision of the interdependence of all beings and phenomena.
